[19/8/2010] Marriage behind the calling

Morning World! =) It's the 12th day of the 40 days program, i think one of the reason i blog this is to remind myself again. Today the guide touched about something really strike me again. This question hangs there,

" Do we really need a life partner to have a fulfilled life?"

Marriage is so often seen to be a life cycle, born, then grow, then love, then engaged, then married, children, house and there you go. The danger with this situation is the temptation to get married outside of the faith. Coupling this is the pressure that comes from parental and communal expectations of marriage. Is Being single a Social stigma?

In His sight, all are precious and no one group is above another, whatever social standing or status we are in, we are all equal before the Lord. Let us therefore stand together as ONE body. Singlehood could find their best way in loving something instead of someone too, there are so many singles middle age bachelors outside already doing tonnes of good community work in this nation and still stand to the point that, there is no need to find their other part. Because they have already found their happiness.

In Conclusion, there are Happiness that could take over your marriage, and it all depends on you to translate that. Singles will find their deepest satisfaction and fulfillment in Him. A life of commitment and undivided devotion to Him. Amen.

More Biblical evidence? there you go. 1 Corinthians 7 32-35
32I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs—how he can please the Lord. 33But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world—how he can please his wife— 34and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the Lord's affairs: Her aim is to be devoted to the Lord in both body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world—how she can please her husband. 35I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.

  1. i think u should serve the Lord fully in ur single days and then get married, go forth and multiply and build strong families and create new lives that would serve and adore our Lord God almighty. its a subjective issue but i believe in the union part of marriage when 2 can pray and uphold each other rather than being alone
