Their Words, but not Yours.

A note to all SPMers 2008
Recently got sms from julien seeking for advise which course she should go =/
Accounting or Mass Communication, and after knowing her for a certain period, i ask her to give mass com a shot. And this kinda reminds me my old, good days after my spm result was released. There goes all the advertisements of colleges and universities saying they are the best and can promise you a good future and all nonsense. For me, there is only one saying, There is no justification of right or wrong, good or bad in tertiary education, going anywhere and pursuing a course just depends on one thing, yourself, your own integrity and passion to give your best out of it.
.
One year after that time, i see things more vivid in a way. like in Ju's case, i bet many people will say Accounting because many people see the big money ahead and instead of Mass com which most likely lies on the average pay. But i just know her, it is not her way or personality to step into the shoe of accounting. I know she can give her best in mass com. So it sees personality.
.
Furthermore, it doesn't mean you do what you learn in the future, she might end up in the marketting department when she works in the advertising department.
Working life is another script of story to tell after Tertiary education.
I have a cousin who finished IT degree and now what? Working as risk analysis in a bank? Working life is that, deviation, i might study as a civil engineer but end up in the marketting line. Even my sis says that, studying as nutritionist doesn't mean you would not end up in the advertising and publicity line for food products.
.
I see education anywhere as the same, people obviously will say overseas university is so far good compared to our malaysian universities, there is no doubt for me to support that, but it only stand for years, when you are out in working life, in your second job, who wants to refer to your performance in university if they can analyze your performance in your first job? and i see the similiarities in a way of maturity, people say overseas graduates see things more openly and in depth knowledge, i disagree, that is so personality dependent! People say overseas graduate experience a better change in the culture environment and learn more things from it, so what? As if there is no international students in Local Universities or, i cannot go for an internship? and about all these culture learning things, i think i have gone through something similiar in matrics, so it is just your mentality!
.
and why so rush to go overseas? there is always chance for you to work and experience in overseas when you are in the working line and time is more optimised there. So why rush? or is it just seeing your friends going that makes you feel like it too?
.
Just go which ever you feel the best you can be, and yes of course if you are still uncertain, go for a general foundation (a levels, sam).. and just believe and always self motivate yourself to strive at your best! =)
.
My whole point is that, education anywhere, or whatever course does not give you the picture of how good you are going to be in your future, so many crappy adversitement outside there appears as nonsense.
.
p/s i know this is another super long post without significant picture to feed on, haha.
